Solar Panel Types

There are a few major types of solar panels widely in use. You could go for any of these solar panel types, and choose what fits your home best.

Monocrystalline Silicon

Monocrystalline silicon or single silicon is the most efficient solar panel type available today in the market for solar consumers. As compared to other types of solar panels, this solar panel produces more electricity per cell, when the rays hit this panel. The cells in this type of panel are square shaped, and you can differentiate it by this. This is the most commonly installed rooftop solar panel.

Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV)

This type of solar panels is identical to roofing tiles. BIPV however is widely known to be less efficient as compared to other forms of photovoltaics. In order to get manageable solar savings with them, users need to have a bright sunny roof with lots of space for panels. The life span of this solar panel is shorter, compared to other conventional solar panels. If a house does not have enough roof space, or if it not a flat roof, it is better to opt for monocrystalline silicone solar panels.

When you can generate power naturally at home through inexpensive solar installation and have your own home solar system, you should take the time to be educated on the products you will be paying for. Any home solar install will be scheduled a few months out to allow you to prepare for the install. Normally, we can install a full system and have permits by that time, and the install itself will only take about 3 days or so (depending of the system size).

As one of the leading solar installers in New Mexico, wewill answer any questions you may have about panels, brands and sizes of systems you will receive.  We are also happy to talk over any solar discounts and tax incentives available to you in the Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Rio Rancho and South Valley Area.
